Over the last few weeks I have been working to expand my professional network, a pool of contacts from which I could draw leads, referrals, ideas for my current job search. Lately I have been exploring social networking events, and I thought this list of local events might be useful to others exploring work in the Seattle area.
The Puget Sound Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) is part of an international nonprofit professional organization dedicated to advancing project management excellence through professionalism. PMI is the leading worldwide project management association, and the Puget Sound Chapter is among the largest in the United States.
IT professionals in the Northwest (Washington, Oregon, and Idaho) are welcome to join this professional group. The group provides in-person and online opportunities for acquiring knowledge, skill and career development. I personally found their PMP Boot Camp particularly helpful during my exam preparation.
Network After Work – Seattle is a business and social networking event company. Their events are created for professionals who want to expand their network, create new business opportunities, and mingle with other professionals. The events range in size from 200-600 professionals and take place in Seattle’s best bars, nightclubs, and hotels.
